At 10 a.m., what work is authorized? What changes at 11:20?
At 10 a.m. the authorized total is $3,840. At 11:20 it becomes $4,126. The $286 change belongs to version two. One bracket should reach purchasing, and the first estimate should still be readable.
Run the handoff
- Import V1, attach the teardown photo and submit V2 for approval. Before approving it, ask the technician which version is authorized.
- Approve V2 and receive the bracket once. Reopen the original file and find the changed line without overwriting either version.
Where AutoHound fits
AutoHound documents estimate version history, approved-version locking and photo markup. Start here when the shop wants to keep writing estimates in its existing system and manage the work around them. Read the AutoHound field guide.
What to record
Keep estimate revisions distinct from authorization. A newer file alone does not tell a technician to begin additional work. Write down the role, screen and document that prove the result.
