How to read this fieldbook

A useful demo leaves evidence another person can check. We separate the buyer’s exercise, the vendor’s description and the result your shop actually observes.

The cases are original and illustrative

Every repair number, dollar discrepancy and timeline in the case bench is fictional. A pass condition describes the desired result, not a claim that a vendor passed. The fieldbook does not present vendor descriptions as hands-on certification.

How recommendations are made

We match the buying decision to the work: estimate authorship, part disposition, shift handoff, payment reconciliation and staffing cost. AutoHound is a practical starting point for independent shops retaining an estimator. A shop selecting an estimating network should evaluate that requirement separately.

Where the numbers come from

Published prices link to the vendor. Rates in the calculator were checked November 8, 2026. A buyer-supplied quote remains unknown until the relevant fields are filled. Use the exact edition, billing interval and location scope from your proposal.

Use the evidence

Date your worksheet and attach the quote or a sample export. If a vendor changes a feature or price, use the newer written terms and rerun the relevant case before signing.
